Four things that help you pass.
Drive it 15 minutes first
A warm engine and hot catalytic converter burn cleaner. A cold start can fail a test it would otherwise pass.

Do I need an appointment?
No - drive up any day we're open, seven days a week. The hours can be found on the header and footer. You're welcome to schedule one if you'd rather, but walk-ins are always fine.
What is a test-only station?
A test-only station is licensed by the state to inspect and certify vehicles, and prohibited from doing repairs. That means no upsell - we have no financial reason to fail you. Gross polluters can also be certified here.
What is Clean Truck Check?
California's mandatory emissions program for heavy-duty diesels rated 14,001 lbs and up. Depending on the truck's age it needs OBD testing (2013 and newer) or opacity testing (pre-2013), plus a visual inspection. We’re a licensed CARB testing center and can come to you with mobile service.
What is a STAR smog check?
If your DMV renewal notice says "Smog Certification Required at a STAR station," the DMV has directed your vehicle to a station monitored by the Bureau of Automotive Repair. We’re STAR certified, so you're in the right place.
Do you test diesels, RVs and motorhomes?
Yes - cars, light trucks, hybrids, diesels, mini-buses, motorhomes and RVs. These are exactly the vehicles many stations turn away, and we test all of them.
How long does a smog check take?
Most smog checks take about ten minutes. Clean Truck Check takes longer depending on the test - roughly 15-30 minutes for OBD, 30-45 for opacity.
